Winter Storm to Bring Harzardous Travel from the Plains to the Northeast through this Weekend

A sprawling winter storm will create hazardous travel conditions from the Plains into the Northeastern U.S. through this weekend. Areas of moderate to heavy snow are forecast over much of the Upper Midwest, Great Lakes, and the interior Northeast and northern New England. Generally dry conditions and rising snow levels today ahead of a front expected to enter W WA tonight and pass through Saturday. Precipitation with this front will take the form of lowland rain/mountain snow. Breezy to windy conditions are also expected with a Wind Advisory in place for the North Interior and the San Juans. The front exits midday Saturday, giving way to an upper level ridge that starts to build over the area Sunday.
