A few degrees cooler than Friday to around 4 to 8 degrees cooler for the mountains, high desert, and Inland Empire. High temperatures for Saturday for the coastal areas: 63 to 68, western valleys and inland Orange County: 66 to 70, inland valleys: 66 to 74, mountains between 4000 feet and 7000 feet: 58 to 71, high desert: 73 to 83, low desert: 88 to 93.
Noticeably cooler with intermittent light rain. High will stay in the 60s for areas in the lower coastal basin and will only reach into the 40s in the mountains.
Areas of stronger and gusty southwest to west winds for the mountains and deserts for Saturday afternoon through Sunday with gusts to 40 to 50 mph. In the northern Coachella Valley below the San Gorgonio Pass, there will be isolated gusts to 65 mph.
A cold low pressure system from the northwest will move into southern California on Saturday, slowly weakening and moving east for Monday and Tuesday. Through Monday afternoon, rainfall and liquid-equivalent above the snow level could range from one-tenth or less near the coast to one-quarter to locally one-half inch in the mountains.
