Threats of Heavy Rainfall, Severe Thunderstorms and Dangerous Heat

Several complexes of thunderstorms, some severe with heavy rainfall, will impact areas from the northern Plains, Great Lakes, Ohio Valley to the mid-Atlantic. This threat will shift toward the Carolinas on Friday. Heavy rainfall, remnants of Edouard, continues for portions of eastern Texas through today. There are 2 ways to get information from this map:

Clicking on the map.

After that, 3 or 4 tabs will open up below the map:

If there are Red Flag Warnings or Fire Weather Watches on the clicked area, the text for those will show up in the first tab. Otherwise this tab will not show up.
A tab with the Fire Weather Forecast Discussion and the forecast for the Fire Weather Zone clicked upon will be in the second tab.
A color coded Fire Weather Matrix will show up in the next tab. Some offices have created custom thresholds for the matrix. Otherwise, "default" parameters will be used. Note: This information covers the area on the map within the "green square".
The final tab has a 3 hourly point forecast matrix for the next 6 days. Note: This information covers the area on the map within the "green square".
