A Couple of Fast Moving Storms Affecting Areas Along and East of the Rockies

A couple of storm systems will impact travel conditions through the first half of this weekend. Heavy snow from the mountains of the West will move into the upper Midwest and upper Great Lakes through tonight. Record warmth and Gulf moisture along and east of the Mississippi River will fuel severe thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, fog for the Tennessee Valley and deep South on Friday into Saturday. A color coded Fire Weather Matrix will show up in the next tab. Some offices have created custom thresholds for the matrix. Otherwise, "default" parameters will be used. Note: This information covers the area on the map within the "green square".
The final tab has a 3 hourly point forecast matrix for the next 6 days. Note: This information covers the area on the map within the "green square".
