High Surf Advisory

Extreme Heat Warning is in effect beginning at 10 AM Wednesday for the low deserts and 10 AM Thursday for the high desert. Heat Advisories go into effect at the same time for the Inland Empire, San Diego County valleys, Orange County inland areas, and mountain zones. These hazards will remain in effect through Monday of next week.

A warming trend brings high temperatures to 10 degrees above normal for the weekend into early next week.

Widespread moderate HeatRisk west of the mountains this weekend with locally major HeatRisk. Major HeatRisk expected for the deserts.

Heading to the beach this weekend? A High Surf Advisory remains in effect with dangerous rip currents and strong longshore currents. High surf will allow for waves to make it further up the beach than they typically do...never turn your back to the ocean! Swim near a lifeguard if you must go into the water. Surf will be anywhere from 4-7 feet for most beaches, up to 8 feet for south to southwest facing beaches.
