Not much change from Wednesday, as much as 5 degrees below average for the western valleys and inland Orange County. High temperatures for today for the coastal areas: 64 to 69, western valleys and inland Orange County: 67 to 71, inland valleys: 68 to 76, mountains between 4000 feet and 7000 feet: 59 to 70, high desert: 76 to 82, low desert: 88 to 92.
A few degrees warmer than Thursday to around 5 degrees warmer for the mountains. High temperatures for Friday for the coastal areas: 64 to 69, western valleys and inland Orange County: 69 to 74, inland valleys: 70 to 79, mountains between 4000 feet and 7000 feet: 63 to 74, high desert: 79 to 85, low desert: 92 to 96.
There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms for this afternoon and early evening, mainly for southwestern San Bernardino County.
Areas of stronger and gusty southwest to west winds for the mountains and deserts for Saturday afternoon through Sunday with gusts to 40 to 50 mph. In the northern Coachella Valley below the San Gorgonio Pass, there will be isolated gusts to 65 to 75 mph.
Another weather system will drop down from the Gulf of Alaska, bringing cool, gusty and wet weather to Southern California. Rain may start as early as late Saturday with the highest chance for precipitation during the day Sunday, tapering off Monday. Totals are expected to be near 0.1" across the lower coastal basin, though slightly less for Orange County. There is a possibility for thunderstorms due to the cold upper level air with this system.
