Areas of Severe Thunderstorms and Excessive Rainfall through This Weekend

A multi-day thunderstorm and heavy rain event will impact the south-central U.S. this Memorial Day weekend. Severe thunderstorms may produce large hail, severe gusts, and a possible tornado or two across portions of the central and southern Plains through Monday. The peak wind gust for the year was 70 mph which occurred on November 7th.
Monthly Temperature: 3rd warmest August on record at 73.3 degrees (tie).
Monthly Precipitation: 1st Driest May (tie) with 0.06 inches, and 6th driest August with a 0.05.
Monthly Snowfall: 4th least snowiest November (tie) with a trace.
