Areas of Severe Thunderstorms and Excessive Rainfall through This Weekend

A multi-day thunderstorm and heavy rain event will impact the south-central U.S. this Memorial Day weekend. Severe thunderstorms may produce large hail, severe gusts, and a possible tornado or two across portions of the central and southern Plains through Monday.   • Annual - 22nd warmest year at 45.8 degrees with 129 years of record (1892-2020). 
                    5th Driest year on record with 53% of normal precipitation.  
                    67th Snowiest year on record with 84.1 inches (92 percent of normal).  
                    The peak wind gust for the year was 70 mph which occurred on November 7th.

     
  • Monthly Temperature: 3rd warmest August on record at 73.3 degrees (tie).
  • Monthly Precipitation: 1st Driest May (tie) with 0.06 inches, and 6th driest August with a 0.05.
  • Monthly Snowfall: 4th least snowiest November (tie) with a trace.
