National Weather Service United States Department of Commerce

COVID-19 Update:

We may be able to do an in-person talk for your organization as local, state, and federal COVID-19 guidelines allow. We are unable to conduct office tours at this time.

The National Weather Service Office in Albany, NY is actively involved in educating the communities we serve in eastern New York and western New England through our Outreach Program! Currently, we are capable of setting up virtual or in-person meetings for groups of all ages interested in weather. Our meteorologists can focus on various topics such as careers in meteorology, weather basics, and general weather safety, to name a few. Below is more information for school/group presentations, with a request form in case you are interested in setting up a virtual lesson!

Core partners can also use the form to request a meeting, tabletop drill, presentation on NWS products and services, etc. Contact stephen.dirienzo@noaa.gov for more information.

School/Group Presentations:

Our knowledgeable meteorologists are available to present to your class/group! We have talks about "weather basics" prepared, but can customize to meet your needs with more specific topics such as severe weather, winter Storms, and flash flooding, just to name a few!
