APRFC will be issuing the last scheduled river forecasts for areas south of the Alaska Range in mainland Alaska on October 23rd.

The Alaska Pacific River Forecast Center will be issuing the last river forecasts for areas in mainland Alaska south of the Alaska Range and the Kuskokwim River on October 23rd, 2023. Temperatures are dropping below freezing and the risk of open water flooding is minimal in these areas.  River forecasts will be issued again next spring or as needed if warmer weather impacts the region this winter.  Residents should continue to monitor local conditions and be prepared for high water due to freeze up ice jams.
