A Flood Watch is in effect until 6 pm today for locations near Birmingham to the northeast and east. Heavy rainfall will result in a risk for isolated flash flooding.
There is a level 1 out of 5 risk for a couple severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts for east Alabama from 10 am to 6 pm today.
A daily scattering of showers and thunderstorms is expected through next week. A few storms may be strong from day to day with the primary hazards being frequent lightning, gusty winds, and heavy rain.
