An opportunity for showers and a couple thunderstorms is forecast Friday into Saturday; until then, rain-free conditions continue. High temperatures will climb to the upper 70s to lower 80s this week, with the potential to be near or break records Tuesday through Thursday for several communities.
The latest Drought Monitor reveals a large area of Moderate to Extreme drought across the state. Due to ongoing warm & dry conditions, drought is expected to persist & expand over the coming months. A Fire Danger Advisory remains in effect. More: https://forestry.alabama.gov
Partly cloudy today with highs from the mid 70s east to around 80 southwest. Winds will be breezy at times from the south at 10-15 mph.
Increasing clouds far north with isolated showers tonight, generally north of Interstate 20. Patchy fog possible far south. Lows will range from the lower 50s southeast to the lower 60s west and central.
