High temperatures and heat indices will be increasing over the coming days. Heat indices in the lower 100s are likely. Heat-sensitive groups and those without effective cooling or hydration will be most at risk of heat-related impacts and illnesses.
A heat advisory is in effect for far northwestern portions of Central Alabama from 1 PM to 7 PM today. Heat indices will be up to 105 degrees. Stay hydrated and limit strenuous time outdoors in the afternoon. Wear light-weight, light-colored clothing.
