...River Forecast Service Changes for the Mahoning River at Leavittsburg Ohio Effective November 22, 2019. Effective Friday November 22, 2019 the National Weather Service in Cleveland will change the official flood stage at the Mahoning River forecast point in Leavittsburg Ohio. The minor flood stage will be raised from 10.0 feet to 12.0 feet, moderate flood stage will be raised from 13.5 to 14.0 feet, and major flood stage will remain 15.0 feet.

The National Weather Service routinely evaluates flood stages for communities based on their risk. Changes in a watershed, both natural and man made, can necessitate adjustments to these flood stages. These adjustments will help ensure the best quality river forecasts and resulting warnings to the Leavittsburg community.
