Overview

A cold front swept through during the afternoon and early evening hours on January 14th. Low pressure developed along this cold front over western PA as it exited our area, with this low pressure deepening as it tracked into New England on January 15th. An area of synoptic snow (moderate to briefly heavy) moved across the area during the afternoon and evening on January 14th. This snow, along with quickly falling temperatures and gusty winds behind the cold front, had impacts on the evening commute, especially across Northwest Ohio. Snow transitioned to significant lake effect snow that continued through much of January 15th from as far west as Erie County, OH, points east.
