A timely snowstorm brought picture perfect conditions for Christmas Eve and Christmas morning to a large part of the Upper Midwest. The storm produced significant snows from the Dakotas southeast through southern Minnesota...much of Iowa and Ilinois into eastern Missouri and western Kentucky from Thursday through early Christmas morning. Much of this area received 3 or more inches of snow. The highest amounts occurred over eastern Iowa where a swath of 10 to 12 inches of snow was reported from the Waterloo area to just northeast of Cedar Rapids.
