Heavy to excessive rainfall occurring at times through the weekend could bring areas of flooding to parts of the northern Rockies, upper Midwest, central Great Lakes, and southern New England. Overview

Severe thunderstorms tracked across eastern Iowa and northwest Illinois Wednesday evening. These storms began over southern Minnesota bringing widespread damaging winds to northern and northeast Iowa, southern Minnesota, southern Wisconsin, and northern Illinois. Several reports of downed trees and winds up to 70 mph were seen with these storms.
