Areas of Dangerous Heat and Heavy Rain with Possible Flooding This Week

Hot temperatures and high humidity are forecast to continue across much of northeast Texas into the mid-Mississippi Valley through this week. Overview

A thunderstorm rapidly developed near Mt Pleasant Thursday evening into a high precipitating supercell.  This storm produced torrential rain, damaging winds, and large hail in Henry and Jefferson counties in Iowa. Additional storms developed along outflow boundaries which produced heavy rain, lightning, and damaging winds to portions of eastern Iowa.
