Heavy Rainfall and Flooding Concerns in the Southwest; Coastal Low to Impact the East Coast

Deep tropical moisture will lead to widespread showers and thunderstorms capable of producing flash flooding through early next week over the Southwest and Four Corners. A coastal storm is expected to impact the southeast U.S. coast and mid-Atlantic regions with flooding, dangerous rip currents, gusty winds and heavy rain up much of the East Coast through early next week. Overview

Showers and thunderstorms moved northeast across parts of northern Illinois on the afternoon and evening of Monday, October 11, 2021.  A Storm Chaser reported a brief tornado west of McNabb, IL. There was no visible damage to assign an EF-scale rating.
