Overview
|
The tail end of June into early July 2026 brought a combination of high heat and moisture, and then numerous rounds of regional thunderstorms. Some of the highest rainfall amounts were seen just to our area's west (near Des Moines), north (southeast Minnesota), and east (Chicago metro area). Nonetheless, there were isolated amounts in excess of four inches in our area. The storms brought considerable cloud-to-ground lightning and regular wind gusts of 30-45 mph, with isolated severe winds and flash flooding. |
