Severe Weather and Flood Threats Across the Central U.S., Southwest, and Southern Florida

Scattered severe thunderstorms and heavy rain remain possible from the southern Great Plains to the Midwest. Locally heavy showers and thunderstorms, as well as the potential for scattered flash flooding, are expected across the Southwest and southern Florida. June heat arrives this weekend with lowland highs in the 100s common! Remember to drink plenty of water and do not leave pets or children in cars unattended.
This weekend will see widespread high temperatures at or above 100° across much of the lowlands of far west Texas and southern New Mexico. High temperatures on Sunday will be a degree or two warmer than Saturday's highs. The first of next week, will see high temperatures come down several degrees.
