The heat will really turn on Friday afternoon, with highs in the mid- upper 90s east, 99-102 degrees west. The humidity will result in heat index values (what it feels like) anywhere from 99 to 108 degrees. Isolated thunderstorms may occur near the immediate Red River Valley, but will do little to quell the heat. Remember to to stay hydrated and limit your time outdoors and exposure to the heat!
The heat will continue on Saturday with highs in the mid-upper 90s east, 99-105 degrees west. The humidity will result in heat index values (what it feels like) anywhere from 100 to 108 degrees. Remember , prolonged activity in this excessive heat can lead to heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Avoid outdoor activity during the heat of the day. If you must participate in outdoor activity, drink plenty of water and take plenty of breaks in shaded and/or air conditioned areas.

Thunderstorm complexes may move into North Texas from Oklahoma both Friday and Saturday nights. The greater potential for this will occur on Saturday night when storms may reach as far south as I-20 prior to dissipating. Gusty winds, hail, and frequent lightning will be possible with the strongest storms.
