Dangerous Cold and Gusty Winds Anticipated This Weekend

A significant arctic outbreak will bring frigid temperatures and dangerously cold wind chills to the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic this weekend. Strong winds which could produce tree damage and power outages, and periods of snow squalls are also possible. 2023 Monthly Weather Data/Annual Extremes for Grand Island, Hastings, and Kearney: 

Although 2023 was modestly-warmer-than-normal at all three official airport weather stations, precipitation was certainly more variable. Kearney was the wettest of the three sites by far (actually slightly ABOVE normal with 26.95"), while Grand Island was notably drier (merely 16.52").
