Severe Weather and Flooding Threats for the Central U.S.; Dangerous Heat in the Southern and Western U.S.

Severe weather and flooding threats will continue for portions of the central U.S. over the next couple of days, with multiple rounds of thunderstorms expected. Dangerous heat will persist across the southern and western U.S. through mid-week. 2023 Monthly Weather Data/Annual Extremes for Grand Island, Hastings, and Kearney: 

Although 2023 was modestly-warmer-than-normal at all three official airport weather stations, precipitation was certainly more variable. Kearney was the wettest of the three sites by far (actually slightly ABOVE normal with 26.95"), while Grand Island was notably drier (merely 16.52").
