Severe thunderstorms and flash flooding risks increase across the center of the nation today. Meanwhile, ongoing thunderstorms and flash flooding will linger along the Gulf Coast states through the evening. According to 30-year data from NCDC 1981-2010, normal annual precipitation across this six-county area generally ranges from 24-27", with the highest amounts favoring the eastern counties of Jewell and Mitchell.
