Length of Service Awards were recently presented to two different Cooperative Observers in Gunnison County. The Gunnison County Electric Association received a 25 year award while the Curecanti National Recreation Area received a 50 year award. These observers take daily weather readings for the National Weather Service's Cooperative Observer Program (COOP). These readings include various weather observations such as daily high and low temperatures, precipitation, snowfall, and snow depth. The daily weather observations take by these organizations help to define the climate of the U.S.!
