Above Normal Temperatures, Strong Thunderstorms, Tropical Development Being Monitored

Well above normal temperatures are forecast to shift from the northern Plains through the Northeast U.S. over the long holiday weekend. A few strong to severe thunderstorm will be possible as well along with a potential for excessive rainfall. Drier weather today, still a chance of storms in the mountains

Drier weather has moved in from the northwest today. Expect a few isolated storms in the mountains, however overall much drier air will eliminate the rain threat in the lower valleys. Increasing chances for thunderstorms are expected by Friday.
