2026 Storm Spotter Class Schedule

SKYWARN™ Storm Spotters are one of the greatest resources for the National Weather Service during severe weather. Our radar and satellite technology continues to improve; however, these instruments only tell us part of the story. Your reports complete the picture that our weather instruments are showing us. Without reports from our storm spotters, our mission to protect lives and property would be hindered.  All classes will start at 6:30 PM local time and last up to an hour and a half.

Presentation will include:

  • Radar analysis of hail, straight-line wind, and storms producing tornadoes
  • Weather highlights from the past year
  • New storm structure pictures and videos
  • Tornado or not?
  • Interesting features and pictures

Check out the calendar below for the date and location of a spotter talk near you! Have questions about the classes? Contact us on Facebook or Twitter, or give us a call at 785-899-7119.
