Tropical Depression Two in the Gulf; Severe Weather in the East on Tuesday

Tropical Depression Two is expected to gradually strengthen and could bring tropical storm conditions to portions of the Florida Panhandle and Alabama coast through Wednesday, where a Tropical Storm Watch and Storm Surge Watch is in effect. A Heat Advisory is in effect through 8 PM Tuesday for portions of north Alabama & southern middle Tennessee. Afternoon highs will reach the mid-90s with heat index values peaking between 105–110°. Stay hydrated and limit time outdoors!
Heat continues to be the primary concern through mid week. Daily chances (low to medium) of showers/thunderstorms will continue through the week with a low chance of a few strong to severe storms on Tuesday. Threats with this include gusty to damaging winds, heavy rainfall, and small hail. Stay weather aware and remember to practice heat safety!
