Overview

A very powerful low pressure system moved out across the Plains on Tuesday March 4th and produced extremely strong northwest winds across most of Kansas. Widespread 55 to 65 mph winds were reported with a stunning 93 mph gust recorded across far southwest Kansas! Strong winds combined with snow to produce blizzard conditions across northeast Kansas, including the Kansas City Metro area.
