Overview

A small but powerful upper level low pressure system tracked across the Oklahoma Panhandle into Southwest Kansas on Friday January 9th. This storm spread a swath of heavy snow across southwest and west-central Kansas as it tracked off to the northeast. Luckily for most of central Kansas, grounds were warm enough to limit accumulation on roadways, with most of the accumulation on grassy surfaces.
