Overview

An unseasonably moist and unstable airmass was in place across the eastern half of Kansas on Monday May 18th. Storms rapidly developed along a southward moving cold front across north central and northeast Kansas during the early afternoon, producing large hail and a few tornado reports over northeast Kansas.

Storms developed back to the southwest as the evening hours progressed and affected most of south central and southeast Kansas through the late night hours. This round of storms produced numerous damaging winds reports along with large hail.
