Overview

A complex of storms developed in northwest Kansas and tracked southeast into central Kansas in the late evening through the overnight hours of Saturday, June 20th to Sunday, June 21st. The stronger storms produced mainly damaging winds and heaving rainfall resulting in flooding. There was a brief tornado in northern Sedgwick County which was rated EF2 with significant damage to a manufactured home. Unfortunately there was a fatality. Multiple rivers rose into flood stage; flooding even closed the Kansas Turnpike for a period of time on Sunday afternoon.
