Overview
|
A few storms developed over central Kansas during the late afternoon hours of September 30th ahead of a powerful low pressure system. A tropical-like airmass was in place across the region in some part due to the remnants of hurricane Polo being pulled into the High Plains. While instability wasn't extreme, rich low level moisture provided enough low level instability for a few intense updrafts to develop. A few low topped supercells with very low cloud bases produced several tornadoes across Barton, Russell and Lincoln counties. Luckily there was no significant damage or injuries reported. |
