Overview
|
A wet pattern set up across central Indiana from August 11 through August 17. This allowed multiple rounds of thunderstorms with heavy rain to move across the same areas of central Indiana, with some areas receiving over a foot of rainfall. |
Flooding
The White River at Anderson and Noblesville set new record crests, with the previous record set in 1913. On the White River at Nora, this was the highest level seen since the record set in 1913.

Environment
For several days, central Indiana remained on the edge of an upper level ridge. A surface front meandered across the area. Plentiful moisture continued across the area, with precipitable water values around 2 inches at times. Upper disturbances moving around the ridge would trigger showers and thunderstorms at times, often over the same areas.
Below are selected parameters from the event, with each image representative of conditions during the entire period.
