An active and complex weather pattern is in store this weekend through next week, as multiple storms track from West Coast to East Coast. The activity starts today as a vigorous system moves through north-central California into the Intermountain West with rain, perhaps a few thunderstorms and heavy mountain snow. Severe Storms Produce Tornadoes in

Copiah County and Madison County

 

Numerous severe storms developed over the ArkLaMiss region during the period from Wednesday afternoon, January 20th through the early morning hours of Thursday, January 21st.  A weak tornado, which was rated as an EF0, touched down near the Pocahontas community of Madison county Wednesday evening. A stronger tornado, rated as an EF2, touched down near Hazlehurst in Copiah county just after midnight  Thursday morning. Reports of severe weather, including damging wind, large hail and flooding, were widespread across the region.
