Heat Wave Continues; Areas of Severe Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain

Prolonged and intense heat wave continues into Friday with relief expected by this weekend. The season started out fairly quiet with a few light snows in December and January and a cold, white Christmas. Things took a significant turn for the worse in February with frequent snows, ice from freezing rain, subzero temperatures, and historic rainfall that led to major flooding in early March.
