Cool temperatures settled over southern Wisconsin this weekend, with northwest winds behind a cold front.  Light winds and clear skies allowed lows to drop into the upper 20s to lower 30s over most of the area Saturday night into early Sunday morning.

Here are some record low and low maximum values for Milwaukee and Madison for Saturday (5/14) and Sunday (5/15):

Milwaukee:

Milwaukee only dropped to 40 degrees on Saturday (5/14), well above the record low of 31 degrees, set in 1895. 

The low temperature for Sunday (5/15) was 36 degrees, which was two degrees above the record low of 34 degrees, set in 1888.


Madison:

Madison tied the record low temp on Saturday (5/14), when the temperature dropped to 32 degrees at 11:36 pm!  This tied the record low for May 14th, previously set in 1964.

The low temperature for Sunday (5/15) was 30 degrees, which also ties the record low of 30 degrees for May 15th, also set in 1983.
