Heavy to excessive rainfall over the southern Appalachians and portions of the central Gulf Coast may bring areas of flooding today. Hot temperatures are in place through today across much of the western U.S. and New England. The telephone company that supports the communication circuit from our office to the weather radio transmitters at Janesville, Racine, Sheboygan and Fond du Lac will be working on those lines this morning from 8 am to 10 am. Unfortunately, that means those radios may go offline for a time during this maintenance period. We should be back to normal operations on those transmitters by 10 am.
