Hurricane Isaias Approaching the Gulf Coast; Remnants of Rachel to Impact the Southwest U.S.

Hurricane Isaias is expected to make landfall along the U.S. northern Gulf Coast late Friday or early Saturday. A life-threatening storm surge is expected along the coast with damaging wind gusts extending well inland. Very cold temperatures and low wind chills will persist through mid morning. Temperatures are around zero early this morning (away from the immediate Lakeshore), with wind chills of 10 to 20 below zero. Temperatures will warm into the mid to upper teens by late afternoon.
