Heat and Fire Weather Concerns in the West

Heat will build over the Intermountain West and the Southwest the next couple of days. Lightning from dry thunderstorms can create new fire starts and combined with gusty winds may cause a fire to rapidly grow in Oregon and northern California. NOAA Weather Radio station WWG-91 serving the Sheboygan area on a frequency of 162.525 MHZ is expected to be briefly down for nearby bridge construction Thursday night. The outage is expected to occur between Midnight and 6 am early Friday morning, and last for 30 to 60 minutes.
