A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through 2 PM EDT today. Scattered showers and storms will continue, with periods of moderate to heavy rain. Rain rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour can be expected at times, in the heaviest showers and storms. Due to recent saturated soils and high rain rates, isolated flash flooding is possible for some areas, especially across areas that see repeated rounds of showers and storms.
Showers and a few thunderstorms will spread over the area through the morning, then decrease again from north to south during the afternoon. Some of these showers and storms will bring torrential downpours, with localized flooding possible. Sunday will be mainly dry, then additional showers and storms will return on Monday. A drier weather pattern is expected through most of next week.
