National Weather Service United States Department of Commerce

A lightning strike a few weeks ago damaged the antenna for the KZZ-69 Beatrice NOAA
Weather Radio. This transmitter covers the following counties - Gage, Jefferson,
Saline, Fillmore, and Thayer in Nebraska, as well as Washington and Marshall counties
in Kansas. Parts have been ordered, but there is not an estimated repair date. We will
try to get it repaired as soon as possible.

People who rely on this NOAA Weather Radio transmitter are urged to use alternate ways
of receiving warnings such as cell phone alerts, reverse 9-1-1 systems, internet alerts,
radio, and television. Residents in Saline and the northern half of Gage County should
use WXM-20, 162.475 MHz as an alternate NOAA Weather Radio site for warnings.
