Excessive Rainfall in the Southern Plains into the Lower Mississippi and Upper Midwest

Heavy thunderstorms will continue to produce areas of excessive rainfall and locally considerable flooding over parts of the southern Plains into the mid-Mississippi River Valley through Saturday. Here are some additional photos of snow rollers found near Medical Lake in eastern Washington on December 30th 2008 courtesy of Ron Trees. While these snow rollers are not as large and well defined as the Camas Prairie snow rollers, it is easier to visualize how each one initially develops with the right combination of wind and snow conditions.
