NOAA Weather Radio is a service of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). These broadcasts require special radios for reception, or can be heard over most scanners and marine radios. This service provides continuous information on the latest weather forecasts, warnings, and climate data from local NWS offices. During severe weather, NWS forecasters can interrupt the routine weather broadcasts and insert special warning messages concerning imminent threats to life and property.
