Heat Wave Expands to the East Coast; Flash Flooding Likely in the Central Plains into the Midwest; Severe Thunderstorms in the Northeast

Dangerous, prolonged heat is ongoing in the Mid-South to Mid-Mississippi Valley and heat expands into the Northeast for a brief period today. Widely scattered instances of flash flooding due to heavy rains are forecast from northeast Kansas to much of Indiana. The Electronic Systems Analyst (ESA) is responsible for maintaining all of the electronic equipment used by our office. This includes the radar, ASOS, AWIPS and the local area network (LAN).

The ESA works with the Meteorologist In Charge, representatives at the National Weather Service Eastern Region Headquarters and the forecast office Electronic Technicians to ensure that all equipment runs at peak performance.
