Tropical Storm and Storm Surge Warnings for the North Carolina Outer Banks; Hot in the Mississippi Valley

Tropical Storm conditions and coastal flooding are possible in the North Carolina Outer Banks beginning late Wednesday. Tropical Storm and Storm Surge Warnings are in effect. Hurricane Erin is expected to bring life threatening surf and rip currents along the East Coast beaches this week. Satellite Dish

This is the satellite dish located next to the office. The satellite dish retrieves meteorological data. This data is then processed and used by forecasters to make the various products (such as the forecasts).

All of our products are then sent via a high speed line to a central distribution office, where products from all National Weather Service offices are made available to various users such as other government agencies, private weather companies, and the media.
