Gusty Winds in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast; Atmospheric River to Impact the Northwest

Gusty winds are expected from portions of the Mid-Atlantic into the Northeast through the night following the system that brought rain to the area. An atmospheric river will move into the Northwest late today into Saturday bringing moderate to heavy rainfall, mountain snow, windy conditions, and high surf to the area over the weekend. Satellite Dish

This is the satellite dish located next to the office. The satellite dish retrieves meteorological data. This data is then processed and used by forecasters to make the various products (such as the forecasts).

All of our products are then sent via a high speed line to a central distribution office, where products from all National Weather Service offices are made available to various users such as other government agencies, private weather companies, and the media.
