Heavy snow is expected across the Cascades Friday night to Sunday night, including the following passes: Government Camp (Hwy 26), Tombstone Pass (Hwy 20), Santiam Pass (Hwy 20) and Willamette Pass (Hwy 58). Snowfall totals for Friday-Sunday will be 2 to 4 feet. In the Coast Range, there will be periods of snow at the pass levels, such as David Douglas Summit (Hwy 26) and Wilson River Summit (Hwy 6). If your travel plans include driving through the mountains, make a plan and always carry emergency supplies! Check the latest weather forecast at weather.gov/portland. Build an emergency supply kit for your car because you never know when you will encounter winter weather or an emergency road closure! Items include: water/snacks, cell phone charger, first aid kit, jumper cables, spare tire, flares, full tank of gas, sand or kitty litter, tow rope, blankets, snow shovel and brush, flashlight, mittens/hats/boots/warm clothes.
