Temperatures will approach record territory mid to late week, resulting in widespread major HeatRisk. As a result, an Extreme Heat Warning has been issued for much of the region Wednesday through Friday.
Temperatures will continue to warm the remainder of this week with highs reaching above 110 degrees at most lower desert locales. These temperatures will result in a widespread major HeatRisk.
Daily storm chances (20-50%) across the higher terrain east of Phoenix through this weekend. Moisture will start to increase today resulting in storm chances returning to the south-central lower deserts. Moisture will further increase and push westward Friday into this weekend, which will result in storm chances expanding into southeastern California and southwestern Arizona.
Widespread Major HeatRisk, with areas of localized Extreme Heat Risk, are expected during the middle to end of the workweek as temperatures warm well above normal. With these extreme temperatures, remember to practice smart heat safety.
