Major Storm Arriving Into The Western U.S.

A major Pacific storm system will arrive into the Pacific Northwest and produce locally heavy rain, heavy mountain snow, gusty winds and a slew of marine hazards. This significant storm will dig down the West Coast over the weekend into the Southwestern U.S. For Saturday and Sunday, expect heavy to excessive rainfall along the California coast and widespread heavy mountain snow across the West. A moist westerly flow brought significant snowfall and some strong wind gusts to wesstern and northern Wyoming Monday night through Tuesday night.  Tables below show storm total snowfall reports received so far as well as peak wind gusts.

  13" of snow and still coming down Tuesday evening in the Bighorn National Recreation Area.  The Wyoming High Country Lodge, 26 miles east of Lovell on Highway 14A,  received a storm total of 28 inches!
