Snow Will Persist in the Northeast and Great Lake States

Heavy Lake Effect snow will continue to the lee of the Great Lakes for the next couple of days. Snow will also return to the Northeast by Tuesday as another front moves in. Bitter cold wind chills can be expected in the Upper Mississippi Valley. Freezing temperatures will even impact central Florida. Strong downslope winds resulted in wind gusts over 80 mph in the Cody area today with a gust to 117 mph at Clark.  Below are the highest wind gusts recorded through early Friday evening, and record or near record high temperatures; as well as record or near record maximum low temperature for Friday, November 27th.
