Severe Thunderstorms and Heavy Rainfall Threats Across the Northern Gulf Coast States

A wave of low pressure coinciding with a frontal boundary will focus more rainfall across the Gulf Coast states. Rainfall could be excessive with flash flooding, especially for areas that received heavy rainfall the past couple of week. Thunderstorms will be possible near the crest the next couple of days, with the best chances on the eastside of the crest. When thunder roars go indoors.
Moderate heat risk is forecast across much of the Central Valley Tuesday through Thursday of this week.
Warmer weather has arrived, but water temperatures remain cold. Mountain snow melt into creeks, rivers and lakes will keep waters running fast and cold. Even experienced swimmers can lose muscle control very quickly. Exercise caution in and around water!
