A major winter storm is expected to bring heavy snow, strong winds, and coastal flooding across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast that may cause impossible travel conditions and power outages. Blizzard conditions are possible along coastal areas from the DelMarVa Peninsula through southeastern New England. The following graphics show daily records for temperatures, precipitation, and snowfall for each day of the year at several observing sites across western South Dakota and northeastern Wyoming. Many of these sites are maintained by cooperative observers, a program which you can learn more about here.
